Cal-Lactate
Milk-type calcium, fermented from potatoes, no dairy in it.
A calcium lactate supplement, naturally produced by fermenting calcium carbonate with sugars and starches from potatoes per Dr. Reams. A more acid-reacting calcium form providing 280 mg of elemental calcium per six capsules. 100 or 250 capsules.
- ✓Milk-type calcium, non-dairy. The name describes the form, not the source. There is no dairy in it.
- ✓Fermented from potatoes. Produced by fermenting calcium carbonate with sugars and starches from potatoes, per Dr. Reams.
- ✓The acid-reacting one. Cal-II is very alkaline, Cal-Gluconate is neutral, and this one is more acid-reacting. That is why we carry all three.
- ✓280 mg of elemental calcium per six capsules. Available in 100 or 250 capsule bottles.
- ✓Bone, muscle, and nerve. Calcium supports bone strength and structure, normal muscle contraction, and nerve signaling.*

What's inside
Calcium lactate. A milk-type calcium from a non-dairy source, so it works for people avoiding dairy.
Made by fermentation. Produced naturally by fermenting calcium carbonate with sugars and starches from potatoes, per Dr. Reams. That is where the lactate comes from, not from milk.
A more acid-reacting form. Which is the reason it exists alongside our alkaline Cal-II and our neutral Cal-Gluconate.
280 mg of elemental calcium per six capsules.
100 or 250 capsules per bottle.
How to use
Take as directed on the label. Six capsules provide the 280 mg serving.
Spread it out. Splitting a calcium serving across the day is standard practice.
With or without food. Organic acid calcium forms are less dependent on stomach acid than carbonate, so timing is more flexible.
Space it from iron, zinc, and thyroid medication. A few hours.
Why we made it this way
Calcium lactate has a name that misleads people twice. It is called a milk-type calcium, and it contains no dairy. The lactate comes from fermentation, specifically from fermenting calcium carbonate with sugars and starches from potatoes, which is the method Dr. Reams specified.
It is a more acid-reacting form than our Cal-II, and that is its actual place in the line. Cal-II is very alkaline, Cal-Gluconate is neutral, and this one sits at the acid end. Three products, three pH positions, all off the labels.
You will see calcium lactate sold as the top-ranked calcium form for uptake. We are not going to say that. A head to head comparison found calcium lactogluconate matching carbonate at about 25 percent absorption, and the broader rankings across salts were compiled without significance testing behind them. Choose this one for the non-dairy fermentation sourcing and the acid-reacting profile, which are both real, and not for a ranking nobody can substantiate.
About this product
Cal-Lactate is a holistic wellness product. It is a dietary supplement providing 280 mg of elemental calcium per six capsules as calcium lactate. Calcium supports bone strength and structure, normal muscle contraction, and nerve signaling.* It is not a medical treatment. Results vary, and it is intended to be used at your own discretion as part of a broader healthy-living routine. Consult your physician before use if you have a medical condition or are taking medication.
Who reaches for it
Adults avoiding dairy who still want a milk-type calcium.
People following a Reams-style program where the acid-reacting calcium is specified.
Anyone who wants a calcium that does not depend on stomach acid for uptake the way carbonate does.
Cautions
Split the dose. The body absorbs calcium best in amounts of about 500 mg at a time. If your serving is larger than that, spread it across the day rather than taking it all at once.
Kidney stones or kidney disease. If you have a history of either, talk to your physician before starting any calcium supplement.
Separate it from other supplements and medication. Calcium can interfere with the absorption of iron, zinc, and some prescription medications, including thyroid medication and certain antibiotics. Leave a few hours between them.
Do not exceed the label. More calcium is not better, and total intake from food plus supplements is what counts.
Pregnancy and nursing. Consult your physician first.
For adults only. Consult your physician before use if you have kidney disease or a history of kidney stones. Keep out of reach of children.
