What's inside

Vitamin C, 500 mg per capsule. As ascorbic acid.

Lemon bioflavonoid complex, 150 mg per capsule. Flavonoids from lemon, which are antioxidant compounds in their own right.*

120 vegi-caps per bottle.

How to use

Take as directed on the label, with or without food. Each capsule provides 500 mg of vitamin C.

Split it if you take more than one. Vitamin C clears steadily through the day, so two capsules spread apart hold levels better than two together.

Keep total intake in mind. The adult upper limit is 2,000 mg of vitamin C per day from all sources. At 500 mg per capsule, that arrives sooner than people expect.

With food if it is sharp on you. Ascorbic acid is acidic by nature and some people notice it on an empty stomach.

Why we made it this way

Citrus does not deliver vitamin C by itself. In the fruit, ascorbic acid sits alongside a complex of bioflavonoids, and that pairing is the reason this product exists in the form it does: 500 mg of ascorbic acid with 150 mg of lemon bioflavonoid complex.

Here is the part most pages in this category get wrong. The long-standing claim is that bioflavonoids improve vitamin C absorption. We are not going to print that, because it does not hold up. NIH's Office of Dietary Supplements reports no difference in plasma vitamin C or urinary excretion between plain ascorbic acid and ascorbic acid with bioflavonoids, and the Linus Pauling Institute counts roughly ten clinical studies finding no appreciable difference in bioavailability. The one supporting study is from 1988, with eight subjects and a single dose.

So the bioflavonoids are in here on their own merit. They are flavonoid antioxidants, they are what accompanies vitamin C in citrus, and including them is closer to the form the nutrient arrives in from food.* That is a real reason. It is just a different reason than the one the category usually gives.

About this product

Lemon C is a holistic wellness product. It is a dietary supplement providing 500 mg of vitamin C as ascorbic acid plus 150 mg of lemon bioflavonoid complex per capsule, and it supports immune function, antioxidant activity, and normal collagen formation.* It is not a medical treatment. Results vary, and it is intended to be used at your own discretion as part of a broader healthy-living routine. Consult your physician before use if you have a medical condition or are taking medication.

Who reaches for it

Adults who want vitamin C at a meaningful milligram dose rather than a token one.

People who prefer bioflavonoids in the capsule alongside the ascorbic acid.

Anyone running Nature C for the whole-fruit source and wanting a higher-dose companion.

Cautions

2,000 mg per day is the ceiling. That is the adult tolerable upper intake level for vitamin C from all sources, food and supplements together. Do not chase high-dose protocols.

Kidney stones. If you have a history of oxalate kidney stones, talk to your physician before supplementing vitamin C.

Loose stool or stomach upset. The usual sign of too much. Reduce the dose.

Iron overload conditions. Vitamin C increases iron absorption. Check with your physician if you have hemochromatosis.

Pregnancy and nursing. Consult your physician first.

Do not exceed 2,000 mg of vitamin C per day from all sources. Consult your physician before use if you have a history of kidney stones or an iron overload condition.
