Why two potassium forms

Potassium citrate and potassium orotate serve different roles in the body. Potassium citrate is alkaline-forming — converting to bicarbonate in the body to support the acid-alkaline balance — and is the form Dr. Martin specifies when protein/sugar ratios are low or when salts/protein ratios are high and total pH is elevated (TpH 13+). Potassium orotate delivers potassium via the orotic acid carrier, which has affinity for cardiac and muscle tissue. The combination addresses both the pH-support and the cardiac/muscle electrolyte aspects of potassium supplementation simultaneously.*
